I found this script to make a list in a Stack Over Flow forum board but I added a few things to it including responding to clicks and couple other insertions. Plus if you found this post before the SOF then I saved you some time.
Here is the code:
Do not let the Preference in the class name fool you. Yes the SharedPreference class can set preferences but it also a great way to implement an easy limited database. It is also a great way keep variables values after restarting the app.
At a high level this first activity (MainActivity) is getting values from EditText fields. When the button is clicked, is calls getResults(View v). This method grabs all the values from the EditText fields and adds them to SharedPreferences then calls “Results” activity. If the values have already been set then it sets the EditText fields to those values. I trimmed the code so this is not a complete app, but it will run.
I hope I am not coming off as if I am show boating but I am excited none the less. It has took me off and on for almost 3 years to get here. But like they say, the first 100 dollars from Google Adsense is the hardest. Maybe they do not say that but I think it is true. My monthly average is much higher now than it was a year ago. So it should not take nearly as long next time.
In case some one is wondering I am leaving my Google Adsense statistics for my first 100 dollars below.
For almost a year now I have been brewing my own beer. I use beer kits to gather all my ingredients I find it convent to have all the ingredients ready for me instead of looking at a recipe and finding all the ingredients myself. Plus there is so many beer kits out there to choose from. The downside is that I feel like it is cheating a little and it is hard to diverge from the given recipe in the beer kit.
During my last brew I took some pictures to share. I just want to show how simple it is to get started. Your directions may vary a little but these directions are very typical.
I just now finished another computer graphic school project and want to share a few things. As you can tell there is a few bugs, but that is a different story. So far I am going to do this any many parts. I wanted to start off by talking about how to detect a collision between a circle/ball with a line. I will later talk about how to find the reflection, what to with many different lines and what else I can brew up.
Here is a visual of what I am talking about:
I have this weird thing about growing trees from seeds. Typical like to grow fruit trees, but there is something cool about growing the largest trees in the world. Since there is no nursery in Georgia as I know that sells Coastal Redwood I started from seed. Plus I think it makes it slightly more personal to get a tree started from seed. If you do want to skip the germinating process and get a year old tree they sell them online.
Coastal Redwood trees grow naturally in California. They are apart of the Sequoia genus and cypress family. Other names are giant redwood and California redwood .They can live up to 1800 years and reach 380 feet (tallest).
This is my second attempt to grow these trees. Last year I tried to grow Gaint Sequoia and Coastal Redwood. The Coastal Redwood was easier for me, because it is required to put the Gaint Sequia seeds in a fridge for like a month, then after that they are fairly slow growing. I was pretty impressed the growth rate of the Coastal Redwood. Last year they died on me because I place them outside too early, too much water, and too much fertilizer. I did have one lived that got a good size ( almost a foot tall and wide), but the lawn mower cut it down 3 times. The third time the lawn mower hit it died on me.
Driving down the backstreets I found it for sale. Thought it was sorta cool. More images coming soon.
